Development Update 10/2025

Hey everyone, 

I've decided to make a new blog post talking about what's going on with the game. As most of you have noticed, there has not been updates or sneak peeks for a really long time. Last sneak peek was a month ago and last update was 1,5 months ago and that update was the capybara party -update, which really didn't add anything new except a little special event. Even looking before that there was only a summer event update which was temporary even too. So what's going on, where are the new updates? Is the Grid Empire dead?!

No, Grid Empire is not dead. In fact, the future for the game looks brighter than ever before. Let me explain what happened. So the summer event and capybara event were never suppose to be major updates to the game, they were supposed to be filler updates until I get the major updates done. However, both of these updates took much longer to develop than expected, not because the development itself was so time consuming, but because I had other commitments at the time and couldn’t focus fully on the game. So that pretty much killed my plan of making few filler updates and then the major update I had teased.

After all that temporary event fiasco, I realized that right now temporary filler updates such as events are not the way to go, I'd rather just use my time to add stuff  the game actually needs. In practice this means that there won't be new content updates for the rest of the year. (man, I really wanted to do something for halloween, but unfortunately that's not gonna happen this year) Don't worry, I'm still working on major updates behind the scenes and I'm gonna launch them all at once either this december or early 2026. These changes will shake up the entire game, making it feel like a polished product and not a buggy beta game with no content. I am extremely aware that these kinds of games need a lot of content to survive, and my plan is to add a lot of good, community asked features that really spice up the game. After the next update, you are gonna see improved graphics, tons of new stuff to do, and everything is just gonna feel much different in a good way. After that, I will listen closely to your feedback and concerns about the new GE and change it according to them. 

The launch of the game is still planned for summer 2026, but the beta will switch to from a closed beta to an open beta after the next update. To summarize this entire post: fon't worry, I'm still working hard on the game and it's gonna see some awesome changes in couple of months.
